5th Grade D.L.I Spanish

Welcome

Over the last eighteen years, I have given the privilege to educate, guide and witness my students blossom academically and within their character. With a diverse background in experience, I have been given the opportunity to educate our honorable police officers and firefighters who heroically fight for our city. I then expanded my teaching demographically into the youth. In the process, I took on several courses through the Montessori system where I was able to travel to Houston, Texas where I was given the advantage to take on training and interactive activities where I was awarded my credentials as Montessori Teacher.

Outside of the classroom when I am not teaching, I am a fulltime mother. Part of that makes me who I am includes: traveling, exploring new things, reading, being with my family and questioning the why’s and analyzing the how’s. As a single mother, I raised my two children to recognize the importance of education. In results, my oldest received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology at Arizona State University and my youngest is also attending Arizona State University perusing her Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management with a certificate in International Business. I was born and raised in Guaymas, Sonora Mexico, by the Sea of Cortez, in a traditional household where I was taught to be perseverant, strong and have integrity. My greatest role is my father who wisely encouraged me to go to school and create a future for me because in life people can take many things away from you, but they cannot take away your education.

I first got into teaching because I wanted to help shape students and prepare them for whatever the future holds for them. As a mother, not only am I motived by own kids to do better, but by my students who have also establish a special place in my heart where I strive to become a better person. With this program, I aspire to gain a numerous skills that can be applicable to in and out of the classroom. I personally believe that there is always room for improvement. I have a thirst for knowledge and I am always willing to learn, adapt and implement what I have learned to my students.

As a teacher my primary goal is to guide my students , become a role model for them, and provide information that is applicable in and outside of the classroom. It has become an objective for me to acquire systematic techniques and other methods that could potentially benefit my students. Teaching is something that is not tied specifically to the classroom. Throughout my time in academia, I have encountered myself in several situations where the teaching is outside the classroom or where I am the one learning from my students. In the course of this program, I strive to learn new methods than can be applied in and outside of the classroom.

Education is something that is always involving, new techniques, theories, and methods are always being introduced. When I learn, I teach. It is my responsibility to distribute what I have learned to my students.
