Biological Applications in Agriculture

Greetings,

I hope that everyone had a great and enjoyable summer break. I am Breyon Pierce, the Biological Applications in Agriculture teacher at Surry County High School. I am thrilled to be apart of the Surry County Public Schools System teaching staff. I am a proud alumni of Surry County c/o 2005. Upon graduation I attended North Carolina A&T State University c/o 2009 where I earned a B.S Degree in Agricultural Business. I have an extensive background in Agriculture. At an early age, values such as hard-work, determination, responsibility, and reliability were instilled in me while working on my families 500 plus acre farm, Pierce Farms LLC. Those values were seeds planted that would later assist me in my future career endeavors. While attending North Carolina A&T State University, I was hired to work on the University's Farm. A few months after graduating from college I was hired with Smithfield Premium Genetics/Murphy Brown where I quickly progressed in the company to be promoted into leadership roles. I worked for Smithfield for seven years before I decided to pursue a career in education. I also serve as "The Surry Farmers Market" Market Manager as well as the Surry High School 4-H representative.
