Miss Rebecca L. Lawson

Hello. If you are reading this, you are probably one of my students, a parent of a student, a former student, or someone who is bored and wandering the Internet. Whoever you are, I welcome you to my page at my school district in the small rural community of Sullivan, IL.

I am originally from Pennsylvania but consider Illinois my home. I attended school and grew up in Charleston, Illinois. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with degrees in English and journalism in 1986 , a Master's in Education in 2013, and a Master's in English (Creative Writing) in 2019. I have been teaching high school English for thirty-five years and started teaching at Sullivan High School in the fall of 1988. Before coming to Sullivan, I taught at Shiloh (Hume, IL), Georgetown Middle School (Marquette Heights, IL), Newman High School, and Warren Township High School (Gurnee, IL). I have specialized training in Tech Prep, teaching the Holocaust, and teaching Shakespeare.

I love reading, singing, traveling, listening to music of all kinds, gardening, watching live theater, going to the movies, antiquing, cooking, watching birds, etc. I have three dogs: Babe, Molly, and Jingle. I also love WARM FUZZIES, MINIONS, OLAF, READING, KARAOKE, GOING ON TRIPS, MUSIC...and chocolate.
