Biography:

I grew up in the small town of Newman located in East Central Illinois. I spent a year at Parkland College on a Trustee Scholarship. While there, I joined the Illinois National Guard. I went on to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences at Eastern Illinois University. I started teaching at Sullivan High School in 2001. During my 14 years of teaching, I wore many hats. I spent time as a scholastic bowl coach, student council adviser, 7th grade boys basketball coach, volunteer golf coach, mentoring coordinator, HOPE adviser, and even filled in as a bus driver and custodian. I completed my Masters degree at Eastern Illinois University in Educational Administration in 2013 and accepted the position of Sullivan Elementary School principal in 2015. After four wonderful years at the elementary school, I accepted the principal position at Sullivan High School, the same school where my career began. I am very fortunate to live and work in a tremendous community and in a fantastic school. I have a wife (Crystal) who is a teacher and 2 children (Kyannah and Weslee).
