The 5th grade orchestra will have an afternoon rehearsal before each concert (listed above).

Curtis middle school Orchestras

6th Grade Orchestra - Meets every other day as a large ensemble (string orchestra). Students learn to play in a string orchestra setting and develop their ensemble skills, instrument technique, and musicianship through the performance of beginning to intermediate middle school string literature.

7th/8th Grade Orchestra - Meets every other day as a large ensemble. Students continue to build on their foundation of ensemble skills and instrument technique through the performance of advanced string orchestra literature. 7th and 8th grade rehearse separately during the school day and combine as one large ensemble for the concert season.

Select Orchestra Ensemble - Students can audition to be in the Select Orchestra Ensemble in middle school. This advanced ensemble focuses on higher level technique and musicianship through the performance of sophisticated string repertoire.
