Below you will find a list of the various software programs that are available to staff and/or students. Almost all of these programs can be accessed through the SPS Clever Portal (http://clever.com/in/sturgis). This list does not include the many free and building or teacher paid programs that are being used in individual classrooms.

Using TinkerCad, students can create a myriad of designs to show their learning and creativity. These designs can be sent to the 3D printer to bring their creations to life!
ClassVR - All Grades
ClassVR is a versatile platform using the power of Virtual and Augmented Reality for education and training for the classroom.
NOTE - VR is currently defunct for the 23-24 school year. The technology office is currently in process of buying a new Virtual Reality system.
BeeBots - K-5
Bee-Bot is an exciting robot designed specifically for use by young children. This colorful, easy-to-operate, and friendly little robot is a perfect tool for teaching sequencing, estimation, problem-solving, and just having fun!
Bloxels - All Grades
Bloxels is a hands-on platform for kids to build, collaborate, and tell stories through video game creation. Students can use colored blocks to design their characters and settings to tell their own amazing stories! The game board is scanned using the iPad app to make the creation come to life!
Glowforge (Laser Cutter) - All Grades
Enter a design (from TinkerCad, Google Drawings, or Canva) into the Glowforge to have your designs engraved/cut into a material of your choice!

Makey Makey -- All Grades
Makey Makey is an invention kit designed to connect everyday objects to computer keys. Using a circuit board, alligator clips, and a USB cable, the toy uses closed loop electrical signals to send the computer either a keyboard stroke or mouse click signal.
There are apps for Plug and Play or students can connect to creations on Scratch.

Strawbees -- All Grades
Construction set for hands-on exploration with versatile pieces for making building and idea creation. Pieces include "straws" and a variety of connector pieces.
Note: two sets of Strawbees are available which may not be enough for a class set.
Sphero Minis -- All Grades
Using the Sphero app (Chrome or iPad), students can manually control their Sphero or use coding to move their Sphero in specific ways

Accelerated Reader - Grades K-5
Accelerated Reader is a computer program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children's independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his own level and reads it at his own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer.
Amplify (CKLA Digital Resources) -Grades K-5
The Amplify CKLA Hub is a K-5 digital student experience designed to connect students to the high-quality media and apps available within the Amplify CKLA program. Students can access and use these resources independently.
The Intervention Toolkit, a comprehensive resource site, helps teachers identify knowledge gaps, organize and deliver targeted instruction, and monitor individual student progress using materials directly aligned to Amplify CKLA core instruction. The Intervention Toolkit guides you through the intervention process, from assessing and determining need to offering intervention.
Amplify CKLA and ReadWorks have partnered to tailor instruction to meet the specific needs of educators. Together, we have developed high-quality texts and formative assessments to expand and extend students’ knowledge.

The Sound Library features pronunciation guidance for every phoneme. Knowledge Builder videos introduce each domain, activating content knowledge and supporting reading comprehension. Each video has an accompanying guide that includes suggestions for follow-up questions and extension activities.

BrainPOP Jr. is a subscription-based educational video, game, and activity site for students in kindergarten through third grade. The main page is divided into math, reading and writing, science, social studies, health, and arts and technology.

Canva is a graphic design program that easily allows students to create custom designs or design based on a template.

CK-12 - All Grades
CK-12 is a free website that contains resources for Elementary Math grades 1-5 and science K-5. It also contains Math, Science, and Social Studies resources for grades 6+.

Discovery Education Streaming - All Grades
The Discovery Education Experience platform engages students in real-world content and multi-modal instruction, supports teachers with intuitive teaching tools, and insures high-quality instruction with cross-curricular strategies.
eSpark - Grades K-5
eSpark personalizes learning for students based on Math and ELA concepts. Students in grades 1-5 start the program by taking a pretest. (Kinder students do not have a pretest). Based on the results of the pretest, students are put into adaptive pathways to learn at their own level and pace. Each activity has a standards-aligned video, a game, and an assessment. Students can complete them in 15 minutes. Teachers can also assign small group skills to assign individual students / group of students a specific skill to focus on.

Gimkit is a quiz learning game for students and teachers, created and maintained by students. After signing up, you begin by creating "kits" (live learning games) to create quizzes. Create from scratch, import an existing quiz from Quizlet or a CSV file, or copy quizzes from the Gimkit gallery to modify for your use.

Lightspeed Relay (aka Classroom Relay) is a tool for teachers to monitor and manage students' internet usage during school hours. Classes are synced through Google Classroom. Teachers can set up "web access" to block specific websites, lock screens, disable browsing, and send links directly to students.

Mathseeds is a comprehensive online mathematics program for children aged 3-9. It offers a huge range of carefully structured lessons and activities that build mathematical skills over a broad range of number, shape and measurement topics.
MobyMax - Grades K-8
MobyMax is a standards-aligned K–8 learning platform for math, literacy, science, and social studies equipped with adaptive tests, test-prep lessons, interactive whiteboard activities, and motivational tools. MobyMax also features specific state test-prep activities. Unique features include multiple single sign-on (SSO) login options, teachers' ability to assign badges for performance, student goal-setting, student-teacher messaging, and teacher-initiated class contests. The site also has a Wall feature where teachers can post class messages, assignments, events, and polls.
Mystery Science - Grades K-5
Mystery Science provides a large number of ready-made science lessons, on subjects from biology to astronomy to geology. Teachers select the lesson they would like to use and simply hit “play.” Each lesson is organized around a key question (e.g. “What happens when plates move along a fault?”) The lesson starts with a short introductory video, laying out the lesson’s key question. The video is followed by discussion questions for the class. Finally, the lesson ends with a hands-on activity designed to help students find the answer to the key question. Each activity comes with instructions and a list of materials needed.
Pear Deck - All Grades
Pear Deck is an interactive presentation tool used to actively engage students in individual and social learning. Teachers create presentations using their Google Drive account. Students log into the presentation with unique access codes and interact with questions while teachers monitor student and whole-class progress.
PinkCatStudio - Grades K-5
PinkCatStudio makes interactive games, math and language activities, and classroom management products. There are many tools (such as attendance and group randimizor) and games based on standards that can be assigned to individuals/groups or played as a whole class on the interactive projector.

Raz-Kids - Grades K-2 (Congress/Wenzel)
Raz-Kids is an award-winning teaching product that provides comprehensive leveled reading resources for students. With hundreds of eBooks offered at 29 different levels of reading difficulty, it's easy to put the right content in every student's hands.
Kids access their leveled text through an interactive learning portal designed to keep them motivated and engaged. Every eBook is available in online and mobile formats, and allows students to listen to, read at their own pace, and record themselves reading. Students then take a corresponding eQuiz complete with an extended answer response to test comprehension and determine future instruction needs. Once a child has read ten or more of the leveled eBooks and passed each of the corresponding eQuizzes, they advance on to the next reading level where they have access to lengthier and more difficult text.

Reading A-Z is a website that offers comprehensive implementation resources for differentiated offline reading instruction. There are over a thousand texts spanning 29 reading levels and multiple genres, and touching on a variety of school subjects.

NewsELA - Grades 6-12
Newsela is an online news-as-literacy platform that features high-interest articles on everything from current events to myths and legends and from literature to science. Users can choose a free account (which just features news and current events) or paid subscriptions that include daily news story updates and subject-specific products for ELA, social studies, science, and SEL. Content is updated daily, with stories from a wide range of sources (from the Associated Press to Scientific American to the Washington Post) in English and also often in Spanish. Topics run the gamut from pop culture to roller derby and Minecraft, and they touch on subjects that encourage cross-curricular reading, such as DNA testing, global women's rights, living conditions in Syria, and travel to Mars. All articles are available in five Lexile levels, ranging (roughly) from third to 12th grade. Each leveled text features a quiz tailored to that particular article plus a writing prompt that asks students to write and respond to what they've read.

With Canva for Eduaction, teachers can create Classrooms within Canva to easily view student submitted work.

CK-12 is a free website that contains resources primarily for Math, Science, Social Studies. (There are limited resources for other subjects such as English, Health, and Technology).
Resources included on the website include a free digital tutor for students, digital textbooks, adaptive practice, simulations, and more!

Gimkit - All Grades
Gimkit is a quiz learning game for students and teachers, created and maintained by students. After signing up, you begin by creating "kits" (live learning games) to create quizzes. Create from scratch, import an existing quiz from Quizlet or a CSV file, or copy quizzes from the Gimkit gallery to modify for your use.

LightSpeed Relay / Classroom Relay - All Grades
Lightspeed Relay (aka Classroom Relay) is a tool for teachers to monitor and manage students' internet usage during school hours. Classes are synced through Google Classroom. Teachers can set up "web access" to block specific websites, lock screens, disable browsing, and send links directly to students.

NewsELA - Grades 6-12
Newsela is an online news-as-literacy platform that features high-interest articles on everything from current events to myths and legends and from literature to science. Users can choose a free account (which just features news and current events) or paid subscriptions that include daily news story updates and subject-specific products for ELA, social studies, science, and SEL. Content is updated daily, with stories from a wide range of sources (from the Associated Press to Scientific American to the Washington Post) in English and also often in Spanish. Topics run the gamut from pop culture to roller derby and Minecraft, and they touch on subjects that encourage cross-curricular reading, such as DNA testing, global women's rights, living conditions in Syria, and travel to Mars. All articles are available in five Lexile levels, ranging (roughly) from third to 12th grade. Each leveled text features a quiz tailored to that particular article plus a writing prompt that asks students to write and respond to what they've read.
Pear Deck - All Grades
Pear Deck is an interactive presentation tool used to actively engage students in individual and social learning. Teachers create presentations using their Google Drive account. Students log into the presentation with unique access codes and interact with questions while teachers monitor student and whole-class progress.
Performance Matters - Currently HS Only
In this assessment platform, teachers can analyze student performance data to inform future classroom instruction or personalize learning for students.
At the HS level, all summative assessments will be given through Performance Matters.
