Personal Story

I grew up in Henrietta, Texas. I attended Henrietta ISD. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I would come home and do my homework with my invisible class. While in Henrietta, I had many teachers and friends that encouraged me in my endeavors. My goal is to make a small imprint on my students. I that imprint to be the memory that hard work will pay off.

I attended college at Midwestern State University. I was actually the first member of my family to graduate college. However, a small unknown fact to many is that my mom walked the stage a few mins after I did. She graduated with her RN degree the same year I graduated with my teaching degree.

I started my teaching career in 2003. Boy have things changed in the world since I started and so have the students. We now live in a digital world and we must change our thinking to help students be successful. My teaching philosophy/style has definitely changed over the years.

In 2007 I married Matt. He is a 5th grade teacher at Crockett. He and I have two boys that are the light of our lives. We love traveling and visiting different place. We have recently started family camping trips with our boys. I am slowly learning to be a tent mom.
