Don't you hate starting a sentance with a conjunction?  I was always told that I shouldn't do it and so I cringe every time I do.  Do you know this feeling?  

Anyway, there are in fact a stronger reason that this story, and the wider IOU conglomerate as a whole, are connected, but we're not there yet.  Right?  I mean, just a month ago, you were too busy worrying about if Jack's punch killed Meowrage.  And, as we all are aware, it didn't.  But that's retreading, which is not what I plan to do right now.
