There comes a point in every person's life that's so fundamentally screwed up, it ruins the rest of their life and all the lives of their close ones. A moment of full devotion, a moment of full duty. A moment where you find yourself thinking about it again and again, not being able to let go. A moment that makes them existentially question themself forever.
You only have one memory before being in this vessel. You were walking, which is a strange thing for a ghost baby to do, but whatever. And there were some cameras all around, and strange looking humans were holding microphones and lights and stuff. And then, you remember walking up to some kind looking human who smiled at you and started to talk to you. Then, your mouth started moving, involuntarily, and a voice which sounded familiar started talking to the tempo of your mouth. You remember something about the letter "M" but not a whole lot more. Then, you remember, 2 felt-covered creatures whose eyes were outside of their skull. They had no legs, just a head and a torso, and where they were supposed to have legs, they instead had an arm attached to a human who started talking when they started talking. They joined in with the conversation about the letter "M" and then you remember this guy coming up to you and the other two creatures, and then his eyes started glowing red, and then you remember him trying to eat you. Before anything was clear, you woke up in front of your father and then you started crying.
You see, the strange part about this living nightmare you alone have recollections of, is that big bird died in the January 27, 1986, challenger rocket launch. After that point in time, his character was retired from the show due to nobody being able to replace big bird, and also it would've looked strange if children saw big bird die, and the next day see him alive and healthy, it would send a strange message about death in the minds of young children.
So, seeing him alive and well in the year 2x2x-14, when you were yet to be in the vessel was extremely scary. It plucked a string in your heart that still resonates with you today.
Your father pieced together this big bird suit, not from the original explosion, but from the workshop that he got the Kermit from. You remember when he was piecing it back together, he used you as a scaffold to host the suit on. This, of course, was one of the scariest things you've ever done, because you remember that thing that happened before your immaculate conception. You do not like Big Bird, not one bit, and so, You think he is the route of all evil.
