It's a picture of your grandmother and your grandfather upon their marriage several decades ago. It's a torn photo, likely from horrible memories and terrible endings. You find the photo a little melancholy. As though it could make a volcano erupt, not with violence, but with sadness and thought. The two look happy. They look young and happy together. You don't know why they never made it work, they could've been so happy together, and then your dad would've been so happy, and then you probably would've been happy. At least, maybe. Maybe the fact that your father grew up impoverished made him get into tight quarters with the government along with your momma, which if that hadn't happened, you probably wouldn't have been born.
It's a morbid thought about how your own existence could've been erased if one thing hadn't happened. Maybe that's a larger theme of this game. That existence is recursive because that's the only stable way for things to exist in. Maybe your own existence is recursive, in that time travel is definitely a thing, so there's a question of egg or chicken, but also can you be your own grandpa. You aren't your own grandfather. At least, you don't think you are. But you would like to find out anything strange like that otherwise.
