Huh, not here either
His walls are off. They're usually on. As in, almost always, they are turned on, tuned to something in the universe. You've asked several times from him where he received these walls. Each time he avoided the question. However, one night, after a long day of team building exercises (drinking), he opened up, and gave you an answer.
You remember it because you were merely half-drunk, he was fully drunk, on the verge of passing out. He opened the story up by explaining what they are, and what they do. He said that they're these panels that show an image of something elsewhere in the universe. It can see Derse, Prospit, the Battlefield, the many planets in between, and importantly, earth. They look like giant windows that would reach floor to ceiling if the building wasn't so damn tall. Then he started explaining the shit he's seen with them. The Miracle of Life, the Miracle of Death, Nations be born, and then crumble. He spoke of a very particular man. A man, whose origins will become not-so-enigmatic soon.
He said that these images he saw with these walls were quite pertinent. That he saw things he'd never thought were possible. Jack isn't a very good man, but he isn't a very good liar, either so when he told you that the walls were a gift from the lordling, you trusted him. He said that, exactly that. "The lordling gave it to me on my birthday". How that even makes sense, is a question that you, the reader, will have to answer. But for now, you stand in Jack's room.
