There’s been a flurry of new and highly anticipated books this fall, in a wide variety of genres. Here are a few of the most notable new releases!


Guts— Raina Telgemeier

Set in the same world as her previous graphic novels, Smile and Sisters, Raina Telgemeier’s Guts follows Raina’s journey through fourth and fifth grade as she battles anxiety, friendship problems, and the looming terrors of puberty. This book was released on September 17th, 2019. We currently have a copy of Guts in the school media center.


Supernova— Marissa Meyer

The third and final installment in Marissa Meyer’s Renegades trilogy, Supernova is a thrilling sci-fi adventure that is sure to leave you breathless. This book came out on November 5th, 2019. The media center does not currently have a copy.


The Toll— Neal Shusterman

Another trilogy-finisher, The Toll takes place three years after the events of Scythe and Thunderhead. The Thunderhead has gone silent for all except for Greyson Tolliver, and Scythe Goddard, a merciless tyrant, reigns supreme. Is there any hope for this futuristic world? This book was published on November 5th, 2019. The media center does not currently have a copy.


Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky— Kwame Mbalia

This thrilling new addition to Rick Riordan Presents follows Tristan Strong, a seventh-grader who has been sent to his grandparent’s house in Alabama to recover from the loss of his best friend. While there, he discovers the Midpass, a magical world filled with mythical folk heroes. This book was released on October 15th, 2019. The media center does not currently have a copy.


Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball— Jeff Kinney

The newest installment in the immensely popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is finally here! In this hilarious new tale, Greg and his family attempt to do home renovations, with some unexpected consequences. This book was released on November 5th.
