Narwhals and the Arctic

Narwhals. The whale with a horn. These animals are usually never really talked about. Well, not like people talk about kittens, or dogs, or rabbits. Narwhals are unique animals. These animals are SUPER similar to whales. kids.national geographic.com lists that narwhals have to come up to the surface to breath. Just like whales! According to worldwildlife.org, the narwhals population is more than 80,000 animals in the whole world! It’s not too many, so we need to take care of them. Let's put the bad thing aside and talk about the good things. You know, the science name for a narwhal is Monodon monoceros. This is listed on many websites about narwhals. Such as worldwildlife.org, kid.nationalgeographic.com, ect.

The arctic is a unique place. Canada's arctic states that when it's summer, the arctic is dark, like EVEN DAYTIME. And it’s where narwhals live. Without the arctic, narwhals and other animals would not have existed! Whenever people say “The Arctic”, people usually think about a white thick blanket of snow, big mountain piles of snow, icicles everywhere, and stuff like that. But… The arctic is more than just that. Worldwildlife.org actually states that more than 4 million people live in the Arctic! I know right, like who would wanna stay in such a cold place.
