Hey Delegates!
October 11th 2025 will be the first ever CAPSMUN, hosted at Wake County Public School System's flagship high school: Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh NC.
Our outstanding school has been operating for 96 years, and has had its own Model UN delegation for almost 30!
We're excited to welcome all middle and high school students interested in a beginner-friendly, professional MUN experience! Join us for a one-day conference in the heart and center of Raleigh, with accredited guest speakers in the realm of political sciences and law, and interact with us in a real-life Model UN simulation!
We're open to all students grades 6-12 regardless of experience level, and we'll offer an array of relevant committees and topics for a variety of rigor and all interests.
We look forward to having you join us in October!
CAPSMUN Secretariat Team
CAPS MUN 2025 is proud to be North Carolina’s first high school Model UN conference to fully integrate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) into committee work. This innovation puts delegates at the cutting edge of diplomacy, giving them access to live StoryMaps, interactive data layers, and real-world visualizations to strengthen debate and resolution-writing.
This pioneering effort is made possible through collaboration with the National 4-H Geospatial Leadership Team and Esri, the global leader in GIS technology. Together, we’re bringing tools used by governments, researchers, and international organizations into the hands of students—making CAPS MUN not just a conference, but a laboratory for the future of data-driven diplomacy.
Delegates will be able to explore the CAPS MUN ArcGIS Online Collection, which houses maps and StoryMaps tailored to each committee. Whether analyzing conflict mineral trade routes, disaster risk zones, or renewable energy potential, participants will gain experience in evidence-based global problem-solving.
By combining Model UN’s tradition of diplomacy with the innovation of GIS, CAPS MUN 2025 upholds Broughton High School’s legacy to “approve ye that which is excellent”—and sets a new standard for excellence in Model UN across Raleigh, North Carolina, and beyond.
