And will you succeed? Yes indeed, Yes indeed, ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed! - Dr. Seuss

Hello my name is Eden Bullot. I was born and bred in Putāruru and am proud to call this amazing community home. I spent some time after completing college in Christchurch, Hamilton, and Matamata; however, after having a family of my own, I could not think of a better place for my children to grow up in than a grassroots town like Putāruru. I have been a teacher aide at our local Kura over the past year, igniting a passion for furthering my career within the education sector. I have a partner and three beautiful children aged six, four, and two, which keep me busy out of study and work. I enjoy reading, running, the ocean, and spending as much time as possible with my gorgeous family in my spare time. I look forward to the challenges and experiences I will gain this year while I am on my teacher training journey, and I cannot wait to share my kete of knowledge with my future students. Whaowhia te kete mātauranga - fill the basket of knowledge.

I strongly believe that all children in Aotearoa New Zealand should receive quality and equal education regardless of their background. Education should be inclusive to all tamariki, and identities should be celebrated not anguished. In order to achieve this I believe that a holistic approach should be used within lesson strategies to ensure that all learners feel confident, connected, and valued not only on an academic scale but as a whole. By implementing these values we can set the scene for our tamariki to feel empowered to learn and reach their highest potential linking back to whakamana and manaakitanga. As a kaiako, it is equally important that we show respect to our tamariki by displaying whanaungatanga to our whānau and community which can be implemented through forming collaborative relationships with our learners and their families. I believe that if we can execute these strategies we can create an environment where our tamariki will thrive and develop a growth mindset which can be seen through academic growth and personal growth.
