Soldering is a process of joining two or more metal parts together using a filler metal called solder. It involves heating the metal parts to be joined and applying the solder, which melts and flows between the metal parts to create a strong, electrical and mechanical connection. For the soldering of electrical components like wires, resistors and printed circuit boards, an iron is used to heat the parts which then use that heat to melt the solder.
Soldering Station, provides power
Solder, melts during soldering to connect components
Wire Stripper, removes insulation from wires
Desoldering Pen, removing solder from joints
Flush Cutters, cutting wires and leads
Safety Glasses, protect eyes from popping solder beads
Soldering Iron, conducts heat to the components
Brass Wool, cleans the tip of the iron
During the soldering process the parts will become quite hot and need to be held securely, there are a variety of clamps, vises and clips available to secure your parts.
