Project 1, "Beauty of Shadows," was an oil painting focusing on the uniqueness and simplicity of people and their shadows. The painting is inspired by the grisaille technique of using only monochromatic colors. But to create something more unique, I added gold metallic paint to the top which strongly contrasts against the darkness of the black paint.
I would reconsider the placement and structure of the "buildings" in this painting as they don't hold much meaning and can come across as unnecessary.
The execution of gold against black was quite clean, it draws the audience's eye to the main focus of the painting, which was primarily the top half.
