Building Level Professional Learning activities may be offered by individual buildings. Only those meetings designated to focus on professional learning will be recorded as points for relicensure and salary movement in Frontline Professional Growth. Leaders for Learning Representatives from each building will record attendance for those who participate.

There is a maximum of 120 points that may be earned for salary movement in the professional development year (August 1, 2019 through July 31, 2020). There is no limit on the number of points you may earn for relicensure.

Building Level Professional Learning

Per the April 6, 2020 and April 8, 2020 MOUs from Professional Council, Administrators/ department chairs/BLTs may hold weekly meetings up to 60 minutes in length during the contract day with at least two days prior notice. If administrators hold a professional development session in place of a staff/department meeting, PD points will be awarded for both relicensure and salary movement. Leaders for Learning Representatives will enter the points for participants in Frontline.

Book Studies/ Study Groups

Book studies and other study groups that meet to support the School Improvement Plan and other Building Initiatives will have professional development points for both relicensure and salary movement recorded in Frontline by the Leaders for Learning Representative.

Committee Meetings

Committee Meetings, such a Building Leadership Team, or others which previously received points, will have points recorded in Frontline by the Leaders for Learning Representative.

Building Staff Meetings

Per current practice and guidelines, professional development points are not awarded for Staff Meetings.

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Per current practice, professional development points are not awarded for weekly 90 minutes of PLCs. Professional Council has provided Ideas for Online Collaboration with PLCs which may be used to guide PLC activities.
