You Are It !!! - How a Trip to Target Changed Everything- Rufus Lott III

Sometimes our kids just need someone in their corner to be irrationally crazy about them. They have the ability to do so much and it is our job to tap into their greatness. Join Rufus Lott III as he describes how we have the opportunity to make kids or break kids solely on the interactions we have with them, and how that door opens and closes so quickly.

Igniting Your S.H.I.N.E.- The Heart of Achievement!- LaVonna Roth

No student fits into a standard, one-size-fits-all box of core content. This engaging and unforgettable experience will leave you

motivated to uncover, foster, and amplify the unique gifts and talents that our students possess. Transformational schools serve the

whole child, honoring each child’s obvious and undiscovered talents.  Thus, we focus on Self, Heart (passion), how to Inspire and

Navigate to create the Exceptional people our students are meant to be.  You will leave with an action plan to S.H.I.N.E and an

unwavering resolve to watch every child succeed in learning and life! This SHINEtastic culture shift will produce exceptional results,

as you embrace, develop, and celebrate game-changing adult and student learners.  When we clearly understand and honor the

undeniable impact of unique gifts, we prepare our students today for their journeys of tomorrow.

Challenge? No, I’m Good- Greg Wolcott

Description: In today’s age of instant gratification, where attention spans seem to diminish daily, many students have no tolerance for struggle or the ability to persevere through things that push them out of their comfort zones.

In this provocative keynote, Greg Wolcott, author of the best-selling book Significant 72: Unleash the Power of Relationships in Today’s Schools, dives into why the challenge is both a key to all learning and growth and an accelerant for social and emotional health. Participants will learn why so many students cringe at the thought of the challenge, how to develop a challenge-ready classroom environment and discover dozens of practical ways to create students who embrace challenge as an opportunity to grow.

90 Minute AM Sessions:

9:45am-11:15am

21st century schooling is rapidly changing. Join Rufus Lott from Lott educational consulting as he discusses the true meaning of the word discipline. In this session we will be discussing how schools are moving to a differentiated discipline model to increase accountability and teach expectations. There is not one size fits all.

Zzzzz... This is not the sound any of us want to hear in our classroom! Yet, some days the sound can get pretty close to this. So how do we make it a sound of

buzzing? This session is a great start, because there will be strategies embedded from the moment we start to the moment we end. Learn about how the brain

learns first, then experience specific strategies to embed into any content and any grade level- and with ease! Your students will be engaged and so will you!

Administrators, take these strategies to liven up your faculty meeting and model through instructional leadership at the same time. BOOM! Mic drops will be

occurring in your faculty meetings or classroom after attending this session with takeaways you can implement immediately! Are you ready? I hope so, because

this is no sit-and-get!

Join us for a dynamic professional development workshop aimed at enhancing executive functioning skills, crucial for

success. Participants will delve into the fundamentals of executive functioning, assess their strengths and areas for

growth, and learn evidence-based strategies for improving organization, planning, time management, and emotional

regulation to incorporate into their teaching practice. Through interactive activities, group discussions, and personalized

action planning, attendees will leave equipped with practical tools to boost productivity, decision-making, and overall well-

being.

Open to Olathe Public Schools Employees only. Participants will learn HeartSaver CPR for Adults and Children. The class will include AED training. participants will receive a 2-year certification in HeartSaver CPR.

Equip your school team with resources to help student success. Student and family reflections will share how supporting basic human needs can support academic success. Johnson County social service agencies and district staff will provide an overview to Impact Olathe- a collective impact model to support district students, staff and families. Gain information about Olathe's school based mentoring program, district initiatives to support students and families dealing with economic challenges in the home or youth dealing with food insecurity. Learn ways to be ready to support any school staff member that may also need to access safety net resources.

90 Minute AM Sessions:

9:45am-11:15am

Great teachers hold above the head of their students a crown they challenge them to grow tall enough to wear. Engaging teacher teams in high-leverage equitable practices isn’t an initiative; it is a critical element that should be embedded in the DNA of a school’s culture, and the teaching-learning-assessment cycle. In Start With The CROWN, Ken Williams makes clear exactly what equity looks like in action and in practice.  This work is 50% mindset and 50% execution. Learners will leave this session understanding how to move equity from ambiguous to actual; from theory to practice!
