Session Description:
· Navigate the world of AI with confidence! This session delves into new OPS AI Guidelines and explores the art and science of prompt engineering – the key to unlocking AI's full potential in education. Discover the fundamental elements of a strong prompt and explore various techniques to achieve specific and valuable outputs. Learn how to think strategically about your AI interactions to save time and enhance your teaching practice.
· Audience: Beginners – I’ve only experimented with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot.

Session Description:
· Learn how to go beyond the traditional classroom and provide every student with a secure, on-demand AI assistant. This hands-on session will show you how to create customized "spaces" in SchoolAI that act as secure, content-rich tutoring environments. Discover how to build a virtual expert for any topic, from a historical researcher to a math tutor, allowing you to reach and support every student without adding to your workload.

· This session will introduce the five-tiered AI Assessment Scale to help teachers provide clear expectations and promote transparency for student work involving artificial intelligence. This framework offers a shared language for classifying student use into five clear levels: No AI, AI-Assisted, AI-Integrated, AI-Generated, and AI Exploration.
· Audience: Advanced – I am familiar with the OPS AI Guidelines for Staff and Student Use; I have experimented with AI tools that are open for students at Olathe Public Schools.

Participants will explore practical applications, including the generation of lesson plans, rubrics, assessments, and communication materials.

· Tired of repetitive administrative tasks taking up your valuable time? This session is your guide to creating and using custom "Gems" in Gemini to automate your to-do list. You'll learn how to build your own AI assistant to handle tasks like drafting class newsletters, analyzing lesson plans to pull out key concepts and vocabulary, and even designing scaffolding techniques for a specific topic. We'll show you how to train your personal Gem to work just the way you do, so you can spend less time on paperwork and more time with your students.
· Audience: Advanced – I am familiar with the OPS AI Guidelines for Staff and Student Use; I have experimented with AI tools that are open for students at Olathe Public Schools.
