Professional Learning Course

A Professional Learning Course is an opportunity to engage in multiple sessions focused on the same topic.

Within a Learning Course, you must commit to participating in all of the in-person sessions and all of the assigned self-paced and implementation activities that are part of the course.

Just as in a college course, a Professional Learning Course will have the opportunity to earn

College Credit

Professional Development Points for both relicensure and salary movement through the Individual Action Plan Process.

College Credit options and Professional Development Points options are outlined within each Professional Learning Course.

The Culture Setter: Cultivating a Culture of Belonging for All

Cohort 9- Fall 2026

Course Description: Olathe Public Schools designed the Culture Setter course for educators to explore how they are the key to setting up the right atmosphere for all learners to achieve. Cohort participants are educators who examine how their cultural identity impacts professional practice through an exploration of the various cultural shifts within the United States' educational system. By the end of this course, educators will leave with an action plan centered on culturally responsive pedagogical strategies that will help support a culture of belonging to meet the diverse needs of the students and families they serve.

Examine individual cultural identity and its impact on your professional practice.

To grow in capacity to recognize, navigate and bridge individuals and groups intercultural competency to ensure all feel valued and included.
Define key components and strategies for cultivating a culture of belonging in the school environment.
Explore culturally responsive pedagogical strategies to finalize and establish a plan of action for full implementation and continual measurable impact.

If you participate in this course you may earn points through the Individual Action Plan Process.
- - Support will be provided on how to submit activities into Frontline for the Action Plan process.
Another option is to earn college credit through Mid-America Nazarene University.
