Professional Learning Course

A Professional Learning Course is an opportunity to engage in multiple sessions focused on the same topic.

Within a Learning Course, you must commit to participating in all of the in-person sessions and all of the assigned self-paced and implementation activities that are part of the course.

Just as in a college course, a Professional Learning Course will have the opportunity to earn

College Credit

or

Professional Development Points for both relicensure and salary movement through the Individual Action Plan Process.

Spanish for Educators

Course Description:

Pittsburg State Spanish language and Culture for Educators

Olathe is partnering again with Pittsburg State University to provide a beginning conversational Spanish course for Olathe educators. Participants will learn some basic phrases to help bridge communication gaps during the school day. Participants will also learn about cultural similarities and differences. Course will include three face-to-face sessions and additional online practice. Participants will earn one graduate credit hour after successful completion of the course.

October 6 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Instructional Resource Center
November10 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Instructional Resource Center
December 5 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Instructional Resource Center

College Credits or Points Available:

Participants must register for college credit with Pittsburg State University.

There is not an option to earn Professional Development Points for participation in this activity.
