Imagery Poem

Reflection

1. What were some of my most challenging moments and what made them so challenging?

Some of my most challenging moments when I was writing this poem, was when I was trying to make sure I kept a balance of seriousness and lightheartedness. When writing the poems i wanted to include the great taste and smell of the food in Italy, while I also wanted to make sure I included the great memories i had while in Italy. Other times that were challenging when writing this poem, was trying to remember different stories and also aspects of the town I was staying at.

2. What is the most important thing I learned about myself through writing poetry?

The most important thing that I learned about myself when writing these poems, was that I have a much deeper connection with my mothers home town and my family in Italy. When thinking of the different imagery I wanted to use for the poem, many memories flooded back to me and I had very nostalgic moments. These memories helped me further realize the great connection I had with my family roots.

3. When thinking about this poem or the process of writing the poem, what am I most proud of?

When looking back at the poem I am most proud of how I was able to express my feelings for somewhere I love through literature. The process of writing these poems helped bring out my creativity and also show how I felt about my mother's hometown in Italy. I was also able to communicate the great experiences I had through poetry.
