Need a New Nail Tech? I got you with mine.
Reina, a 17 year old nail technician that did my nails this past weekend, was the sweetest. After days of searching for a nail tech skilled for long nails, I found her account on Instagram. Her page looked organized and I found her to be trustworthy.
The customer service in booking an appointment went smoothly & I had no issues. She did ask for a $10 deposit (which she now has raised it up to $15) to ensure no cancellations as she is taking time out of her day to do nails. When the day came, I drove 13 minutes to her in Glendale (I highly recommend early morning bookings to avoid traffic on the freeways). Because she’s an at home nail tech, parking is on the street. Her home is on a school block, meaning there are typically free parking spaces on weekends and most other times.
As soon as I met her, she was so sweet & welcoming. Within the 2 minutes it took for her to let me in and begin my nails, it felt like I had known her for a while. As a shy person myself, her set up & energy made me feel comfortable and relaxed.
As for the most important part, the nails: She is an acrylic nail tech so she began by prepping my nails & putting on the nail tips. This process went by so quickly. She then began applying the acrylic beads to my nails and I started to get a little scared - I am very picky in how my nails come out and her fast process is different from what I’m used to.
After the application she began filing. I was in a ‘trust the process’ mindset but once she finished filing, I was already in love with my nails. The way nails look after filing catches my eye already. The shape of my nails & everything was amazing so I let her continue with the design with full confidence at this point. My idea was very specific with every nail being different and Valentine’s related. I was worried prior to booking that she wouldn’t be able to do my heart designs, but after seeing her filing, I thought she would be able to and she exceeded my expectations.
My nails came out exactly how I wanted them after an hour and a half. I asked for Long, different design nails and for the price being $70 and taking less than 2 hours, I would definitely go back 100%. The retention of the nails is amazing, I got them done February 5th and not only did none of the gems fall down, but none of my nails broke or lifted. I ended up taking them off March 23rd, but they would’ve lasted longer with no issue with them growing out.
