We know planning is hard, so here are a few places where you can celebrate Valentines.
The season of love, a time to celebrate with your significant other and friends. Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Do you know how you’re celebrating? If not, do not stress, here are 10 date ideas that will sure to be perfect.
Swan Ride in Echo Park:
Valentine’s falls on a Tuesday, so school ends between 3:00 pm and 3:39 pm depending whether you have AVID or not. This means you have time to go with your date/friends for a nice picnic at Echo Park and as the sun is setting around 5-6pm, you can take a nice swan ride in the lake. This is the perfect time to take pictures and take in the nice Downtown L.A view.
Walk on the Beach:
Everyone knows the view at the Beach is amazing. Imagine having a nice picnic at Santa Monica Beach or a beach of your choice, and watching the sunset. Once you’re tired of watching the view, you can go take a walk on the pier. Maybe get a caricature drawing of you and whoever you’re with. You can play in the arcade and see who can win the most games. You can eat at one of the restaurants or snack on some of the foods sold by street vendors.
Lunch Date at Bottega Louie:
Although the surrounding area isn’t the best, this lunch location looks expensive and eye-catching, as you enter you are captivated by the countless macarons they have on display. The dim lights of the location set the mood for the evening. If you enjoy Italian food, lasagna is recommended but if you are picky, the pepperoni pizza is also a good way to go. You can end the night with a nice dessert.
The Perch LA Brunch:
Not celebrating that same day? Over the weekend you should invite them to a nice brunch located in Downtown LA. Because it is a rooftop restaurant, you get a good view of Downtown and enjoy a nice breakfast. The Benedict Eggs come highly recommended from a few people I have talked to. They also have French and Avocado Toast, and for my picky eaters, they have a Perch Burger.
Drive In:
For my romantics, picture this, quality time with a sunset watching the Notebook. I don’t know about you guys, but that would be an amazing way to spend Valentine’s. The Electric Dusk Drive-In will be playing The Notebook on Valentine’s Day at 7pm. It can be a friend's day as well. You can buy In-n-out or Chick-fil-a and go to a nearby convenience store for chips and candy and enjoy the movie. The location charges a $20 Car Entrance Fee and $8 Tickets per person.
Sweethearts Nite:
Disneyland is the best place to be on Valentine’s Day. The castle is decorated for the occasion with pink and red, the food will fit to the theme, and the air will be full of love and joy. It would literally be the happiest place on earth with the right people. If you’re into Disney, I would recommend eating at the Blue Bayou, the lights and the food would just tie the day together. Getting a churro, a beignet, and a macaron is a must.
Kitchen Date:
Cooking/ Baking isn’t that hard especially when you have more than one person in the kitchen. You can choose something together to make like chicken alfredo or a heart shaped pizza. If you’re into baking, you can bake a cake or some type of cute pastries. Tiktok is one of my favorite places to look for good ideas on what to bake and they have good ideas to fit the theme. The quality time in the kitchen is something that can involve multiple people and create further memories.
Aquarium:
Interested in marine life? You can visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. You can explore the different sections and exhibits that they have available. Because it is Valentine’s, they will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Dinner where you can eat with your favorite people for a once a year dinner.
Taco Date:
Pink and Boujee is a good taco spot for a girls outing. Check out this small stand in Downtown LA where they make Pink Tacos and Burgers. I have gone countless times and the service is amazing. Yes you can go for the pictures and the pink aesthetic, but the food is good. They also serve chips with cheese, aguas frescas tailored to some of the top artists like Bad Bunny and Karol G. Any type of street tacos would be a good date idea and just spending quality time with people would be good.
Griffith Park Observatory:
Imagine ending the night on Valentine's seeing the stars. If you find that interesting, you should definitely go to the observatory as it is free and a nice place to maybe have a picnic and watch the stars.
