Cocaine Bear's trailer promised big laughs, but did the movie deliver?
Before watching Cocaine Bear, I decided to make a few predictions for a movie I thought was going to be amazing.
For the storyline I think they're going to go with a bear just busting down all the drug dealers around them taking all their drugs and cocaine.
While that's happening the drug dealers probably team up and try to kill or stop the bear.
I think it’s going to be really funny and really unpredictable
After watching the movie, I reviewed my initial predictions, and it was so different then what I thought it was gonna be like. It had some parts that I predicted but overall it was more gore and killing than laughs and giggles. I was truly looking forward to laughing through what I expected to be a silly movie, but I was disappointed by the focus on gore instead of solid laughs. When it comes to the quality of the film, there were a couple of issues that took me out of the story. The acting was questionable, some of the gore and wounds were much less realistic than I would expect. For example, when the paramedic lost his arm, it was obvious that they just used a fake arm.
On the comedy side, there should have been more laughs. They had lots of room where they could have added some more jokes or small props, but they didn’t take those opportunities. The second half, especially, has no intention to make the audience entertained. The movie hooked us in the first half, but after that it just feels like unnecessary stretches & many repetitive scenes (bear chasing, bear chasing, bear chasing).
In the end it was a decent movie, but not extraordinary. It's one of those movies where you just go into the movie theater and see what movies are available at the time, no plan, just wanna watch a movie - and sometimes that’s all we need from a movie. Just like the bear cubs, who are not affected by cocaine at all, it was chill, but I’m not going to change your life.
