Mrs. Yarc

Hi, my name is Kara Yarc. I am your child’s 8^th grade math teacher for the 2020-21 year. This will be my 21st year teaching. Prior to teaching in Kearney, I taught for 6 years in North Kansas City at Northgate Middle School. My husband, Nick and I live in Kearney with our four children, ages 18-11. We keep super busy getting them from activity to activity! I am sure many of you can relate. I am super excited to get to know you and your children this school year!!

Education

After I graduated from Kearney High School, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University (Go Bearcats!). After teaching a few years, I went back for my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Currently, I also have earned an Educational Specialists Degree in Technology in Schools at the University of Missouri.

Food: Is coffee a food?

Candy: Anything dark chocolate

Movie: Hmmm? Not much into movies, but I really like comedies. Some of my favorites are The Goonies, The Princess Bride, and Sandlot

Book: The Outsiders

Sports Teams: Chiefs, Royals, … and Jayhawks
