Hello and welcome to my homepage. I am a doctoral student in the Department of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER), Pune, India. I joined IISER, Pune in 2019 as an Integrated PhD student after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from St. Xaviers College (Autonomous), Kolkata. Find my latest CV here (last updated on 22nd July, 2025).Â
My doctoral work mainly focuses on the detection of structural breaks in heavy-tailed time series data using nonparametric methods. My thesis is supervised jointly by Prof. Moumanti Podder (Department of Mathematics, IISER Pune) and Prof. Soudeep Deb (Decision Sciences area, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore). Broadly, my research interests include the following topics:
Detection of structural breaks
Nonparametric lack-of-fit testing
Statistical theory of deep learning
Shape-constrained regression models
Complexity in nonparametric learning
Non-Euclidean statistics
Cyclically integrated time series, time-dependent data on planar and curved regions
Random graphs and network models
Benign overfitting in nonparametric models
Beyond academia, I love spending my time reading books and watching films. My specific interests lie in Urdu poetry, feminist literature as well as the history of theatre and fine arts.
I am actively seeking postdoctoral positions and faculty jobs.
