Thorium

Thorium is a real element that is slightly radioactive. It was originally named after Thor (by its discoverer, Swedish chemist Jons Jakob Berzelius), the norse god of thunder and lightning. Thor is also well known for having a powerful hammer that makes thunderclaps when used, which he is holding in the mural. In Marvel, he also has a yellow beard and often wears a winged hat.
