The APES Kids

Mer Clendanter, Kristea Laubscher, Mike Hutchinson, Miranda Heins (2012)

Mural reads: The APES Kids: Not Your Average Tree Huggers; What Herndon thinks we do; What we think we do; What our parents think we do; What teachers think we do; What our friends think we do; What we actually do.

Herndon used to be a chemistry teacher in the room next to Mr. Rissberger's (the APES teacher) room. (Ms. Mason is now the chemistry teacher in this room as of 2019).

APES students believe they are/will save/ing the world.

Parents think APES is very hard and will cause their children to fail.

Teachers think students slack off and sleep in class.

Friends think APES students get to go on a trip to the beach.

APES students actually have to do a lot of outlines; twenty-five in total because there is one for every chapter of the book.
