Food Chain and Sustainable House

The first part of the mural reminds viewers that in nature, everything is connected and dependent on other parts of the ecosystem. If one part of the food chain is affected by pollution, the whole ecosystem will suffer.

The second part of the mural shows the top view floor plan of a sustainable house for people to emulate to reduce their environmental impact and perhaps save money long term (on water/heat/etc. bills). It reads: lots of plants, electric fireplace, bike, greenhouse, low flow shower, low flush textbook, solar panel, freshwater aquarium, garden. Components: Water: collect rainwater, recycle water, use low flow appliances; Plants: grow your own produce native to environment; Windows: main light source, use insulated glass.
