Building Our Legacy Together Since 2016

For the past 6 years, the Leadership class has created, coordinated, produced, and directed BOLT (“Building our Legacy Together”). BOLT is a TED Talk-inspired presentation for our community that highlights what makes each person unique and what brings us together at a school. Its where people from the community, students, and staff can share and speak up about their life stories, dreams, talents, and struggles.

Recent past BOLT events have focused upon: Breaking Barriers (2020), Behind the Storm (2019), and Skyview Unmasked (2018).

The 2020-2021 school year has brought our 20 juniors and seniors in Leadership the challenge of creating BOLT entirely online. Most of the class has still not met in person, but all have persevered to successfully create and carry on the BOLT tradition.

This year's BOLT event is available on this website as three diverse video collections, and videos were rolled out individually during each school week in April (starting April 14). Unlike past in-person presentations, which were only viewable in the moment by attending assemblies in the auditorium, this year's BOLT is viewable by anyone, anywhere.

Each video contains speeches and performances from students and staff, and is MC'ed by a member of this year's Leadership class.

Our Theme: "Stepping Out of the Storm"

Knowing the struggles that came from the past year, our BOLT theme acknowledges these hardships and highlights what our community has learned, how we have grown, and what we did to remain strong as we leave behind the storm of the past twelve months.

Presentations will explore this evolution as we as a community begin "Stepping Out of the Storm" together.
