Everyone is antsy for high school. Teachers, however, have seen many kids come and go to high school and tend to know a little more about it than students do. So how should someone prepare for high school? Teachers have very good advice for that.
Mrs. Blake advised taking advantage of all the opportunities that come. This could mean classes, clubs, and sports. High school will only ever happen once, so one should take advantage of everything that comes their way. Even if it is unfamiliar to somebody, they should still take advantage of anything. Nobody can relive high school, so if there is an opportunity to try something new, do it. Nobody knows what they like until they try it.
Mrs. Beausoleil said to prepare for lectures and carry things needed for multiple classes. At the high school, there is only five minutes for passing period. This increase is because of how much bigger it is compared to the junior high. Carrying materials for multiple classes will make less trips to lockers necessary. Lectures are also a big thing at the high school. Mrs. Beausoleil was talking about high school science teachers, however a lot of teachers will prefer to lecture students and expect them to listen and do it well.
