End Of The School Year: Peaceful Or Pandemonium

By: Reyna

The end of the school year not only comes with the feeling of the summer, but with piles and piles of homework that needs to be completed. Students are being given tests to wrap up units across classes, while also balancing MAP testing, which is taking place during the same weeks. Furthermore, students are beginning to cram information for the last unit of the school, leading many to feel restless and tired. As the last day of school approaches, less and less effort is being put into work due to them being filled with information from the entire year. However, teachers still expect students to be active and engaged during lessons, even when the pressure that is placed on them is evident. Instead of enjoying the final weeks of the school year, students are beginning to return with dread as more and more assignments are piled on them.
