Is COVID-19 Still Prevalent in 2022?

As Covid-19 begins to die down across the United States, testing stations are beginning to decrease along with it. CNN states, “Sarah Henderson, director of the Public Health Services Division of the Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency in North Carolina, says most states will see closures soon, if they haven't already”. The idea of this has provided relief to many people as life is finally beginning to return to a sense of normalcy since the pandemic’s start in early 2020. More opportunities are opening up and hardly any restrictions are left in schools and in public areas. Many students from the Pleasant Valley Junior High can agree that Covid has not only affected the way school runs, but also the attitude of teachers and students. Programs available to kids before Covid are off the table or have drastically changed. Sports practices are limited, varying based on the effect that Covid-19 had on the school.

One eighth grade student from the Pleasant Valley Junior High stated, “Covid may be primarily over, but the long term effects will always be present at the Junior High and other areas around the world”. In summary, Covid-19 may be decreasing around the world, but the effects that it had on schools and students will remain forever.
