Best Authentic Restaurants from Different Countries in the QCA

Food. That’s what is on every PVJH student’s mind by the time the 5th period rolls around. However, many students are not exposed to authentic food from different countries. Lucky for us, the Quad Cities has a variety of authentic restaurants for you to try.

African: Taste of Ethiopia

Taste of Ethiopia represents Ethiopia, a country in East Africa. They are located at 102 S Harrison St, Davenport, IA. This restaurant has a really unique taste that none of the other restaurants have had. I highly recommend the Sambusas, hand-wrapped pastries filled with beef, green pepper, and onion.

Italian: Trattoria Tiramisu

Trattoria Tiramisu is an authentic Italian restaurant located at 1804 State St, Bettendorf, IA. There are many great meals, from ravioli to noodles and seafood.

Chinese: Panda Garden

Located at 3372 Middle Rd, Bettendorf, IA, Panda Garden has many amazing Chinese dishes. The sesame and orange chicken meals with rice are really good.

Mexican: La Flama

La Flama is a great and more authentic Mexican restaurant. It is located at 3871 Elmore Avenue Suite A, Davenport, IA. This might sound basic, but I recommend the classics such as chips and salsa and an order of beef tacos.

Mediterranean: Olive Tree

Olive tree, located at 2513 53rd Ave, Bettendorf, IA, has a great selection of Mediterranean meals. The dijon chicken panini and homemade hummus with pita chips are top-notch.

Vietnamese: Le Mekong Vietnamese Restaurant

1606 5th Ave, Moline, IL, is where you’ll find a great Vietnamese restaurant. Recommended options here are the spring rolls and chicken fried rice.

Thai: Exotic Thai

Exotic Thai is at 2303 E 53rd St, Davenport, IA. A good choice at this restaurant is the Chili cashew chicken.
