Album Review: My Turn

My Turn by Lil Baby is an amazing album that came out in february of 2020. It tells his story about how he got to where he was and he talks about where he is now. Overall it is a great album where almost all of the songs are on repeat for me. I very much recommend this album to anyone who likes Rap, Hiphop, or Pop. I will now list my 10 favorite songs from the album.

Get Ugly: This one is by Lil Baby by himself with the producer ATL Jacob and the Intro to the album. It talks about his life and struggles from before he got rich and talks about his hussle and life from the hood. The Chorus is my favorite part but he has really hard bars over all it is a pretty good song and a good intro compared to most album intros. 7.5/10

Heatin Up: This song goes hard. It's with Gunna and Lil Baby produced by Quay Global. The beat is a hard trap beat over some string instruments like violins but I do not know what they are for sure. Anyway Lil Baby and Gunna rap hard with great pace bringing great energy. I really enjoyed this song and would recommend listening to it. 8/10

Grace: This one is by Lil baby and 42 Dugg. It is a chill song with really low energy but you can tell that what they are saying means a lot to them. They are still talking about how their lives have changed like in past couple songs but they are talking about how they won’t change even though their circumstances have changed. 8.5/10

Woah: This one is by Lil Baby. This was a single before the album and it was a hit. It is a great song but it doesn’t carry a deep meaning. I don't think I might be missing something but I still love this song. The chorus and verses are great and it gives me nostalgia. 8.5/10

Live Off My Closet: This one is by Lil Baby and Future. It is a hard song, a fast rap song instead of a more hiphop pop vibe. I didn't really like it at first when I heard it but when I stuck into it, it got really good and I really enjoyed it. 8/10

Same Thing: The best song on the album. I love this song. The instrumental with the upbeat guitar is really catchy and the trap beat over it gives really really good vibes and his singing/raping over it sounds so good. I love this song and I would recommend it to anyone who likes being happy to listen to this song. Very underrated. 11/10

Emotionally Scarred: By Lil Baby. This one is really good and you can tell he is actually talking from experience and he brings his pain from his relationship into the song in a great flow in a great chorus. 8.5/10

Commercial: This one is with Lil Baby and Lil Uzi Vert and it is one of the best on the album, 2nd best behind Same Thing. It is a great rap song with a great beat and really good flow. The transition from Lil baby to Uzi’sverse is really clean and I would definitely recommend listening to this. 10/10

We Paid: This is with 42 Dugg and Lil baby. This is a hard rap song and I really like it. If you like hype songs I would recommend it even though the energy isn’t as hype as some rap songs but it goes hard and I like it. 9/10

Sum 2 Prove: This was another single and is really good. I haven't heard this til recently but it has really grown on me fast and I think it is definitely a top ten song. He tells more of a story in this song and it is definitely a great song. 8.5/10

Honorable mentions: Bigger Picture: This was a very influential song that pushed for change. It was good and very powerful. Catch The Sun: Was a very catchy chill song soundtrack for queen and slim. Forever: Very hard fast paced rap song. I think it is better than Get Ugly, but Get Ugly is a good intro and that is rare.
