Sushi. A Terrible Choice of Food To Eat

By: Grant Cabay

Sushi. To some people, it may be a cuisine. To others it is just bad food. In my opinion, sushi is not worth it to buy and eat it because of the price and the calories for the price.

Firstly, if sushi is of high quality, it is very expensive. The raw fish inside of high quality sushi is very rare, like bluefin tuna, which can cost hundreds of dollars per pound. As one article states, “ Fish that is good enough to be considered ‘sushi grade’ is very expensive” (Oliver). In order to have a good quality piece of sushi, you have to spend lots of money to buy it.

Next, sushi does not have very many calories for the amount of food you are getting. In one piece of good quality, there is an average of 37 calories. Each piece of sushi can cost over 7 dollars per piece, which is 7 dollars for 37 calories of food. Compared to a mcdonald's southwest salad which has 220 calories and costs $4.79.

Therefore, instead of eating sushi, you should eat a different food instead because it most likely costs less and has more calories.
