On March 4th, 2022, five students at the Pleasant Valley school district were presented with prestigious awards for their artworks and writing pieces, which present these young creators a large head start in future work and publishing. The Gold Key winner of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is automatically entered into a national judging system, which presents quite a few opportunities if won. Based on the Scholastic Art & Writing website, “National Medalists are eligible for scholarships up to $10,000” (Scholastic Art & Writing Awards).
Every submission to the Scholastic Arts and Writing program is a way for artists and writers alike to express their creativity to the fullest extent. One example of the Scholastic Awards' famous alumni is Andy Warhol, a famous American artist responsible for the iconic Marilyn Monroe abstract painting (Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards). This allows the creator to use that creativity to grow as a person later on in life as they learn to accept defeat, overcome challenges, and celebrate the small victories they get. The opportunities this program presents are a great way for aspiring artists to get an augmentation in their reputation and skills to help them succeed in the future. We hope the best for everyone who submitted and present our sincerest encouraging words in their future endeavors.
