Junior High- Is It Really the End?

The end is in sight! As the 2021, 2022 school year is coming to an end, there are many different perspectives that eighth grade students here at the junior high have on graduation. One student says, “I can’t wait for Summer.” Another student voices his thoughts about the fourth quarter. He states, “I feel like the fourth quarter has been going by very slowly, I can’t wait for summer.” Another student shares a somewhat unpopular opinion, however one that many can relate to. “I will be sad to graduate from the Junior High, and will miss many of my teachers, and some of my friends.”

I also asked several students about whether or not they think we should have a formal graduation, like the 6th graders or Seniors since we were leaving to a new school. One student said, “I think that we should have a graduation ceremony, because we have put in a lot of work these past couple years, and it is only fair we are recognized for it as we leave for a new school. Another student gave a very different opinion. “I think graduation is stupid, and just another useless event for your friends and families to come to for you to dress up in nice clothes. I am glad there is no eighth grade graduation.”
