Coachella. An annual festival where thousands of people meet to watch and listen to their favorite artists all in one place. The event is located in Indio, California in the Coachella Valley, and the last time it took place was in 2019. For the past 2 years it has been canceled due to Covid-19. However, it’s finally making a comeback.
The Coachella 2022 experience includes no vaccination, testing, or mask policies regarding Covid-19. However, Coachella still warns of risks when attending. On a lighter note, over 150 artists are set to perform. Including famous singers such as Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat. The 6 day long festivities are estimated to draw in 750,000 people according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Coachella first started in 1999 as a 2 day fest. However it hasn’t always been what it is today. The first Coachella faced failure to make money and was only brought back as a 1 day get together in 2001. It also didn’t have as many famous singers. Eventually, Coachella gained more visitors and evolved into the weekends of partying it is today.
The first weekend of Coachella festivities has already happened, but you can still catch live performances for this weekend on media platforms such as YouTube. There are many artists ranging from A-List celebrities to underground bands so if you are in need of entertainment this weekend viewing Coachella, or even going, may be for you.
