[Junior] High School: The Musical
[Junior] High School: The Musical
The Pleasant Valley Junior High school puts on a school play every semester. For the second half of the school year, the production is the theater adaptation of the Disney Channel Original, “High School: The Musical”. The main characters, Troy and Gabriella, meet at a ski resort when a host invites them to sing a karaoke duet. From there, they part their separate ways, until Gabriella is transferred to Troy’s high school. Gabriella wants to help Troy find his passion for singing, even though his friends think that he should only play basketball and “get his, get his, get his, head in the game.”
One of the actresses, Siddi Bharadwaj, plays Gabriella. “I really enjoy playing the role, and I can relate to Gabrialla too. She is a nerdy girl and loves to learn. Gabriella finds pleasure in singing, and I like to sing as well. Overall, I am very happy to play her. We always stretch as a warmup, and it is always fun, and there is a chicken named Sparticus. When Sparticus enters the scene, we all have to stop whatever we are doing and bow down to him. My favorite song has to be ”We’re All In This Together Reprise” because everyone is in it and everyone is happy. I hope it spreads to the audience.” Siddi recommends that you watch because it will be exciting and is sure to grab your attention. Watch the play on May 6th or May 7th at 7:00 at the Pleasant Valley High school Theater!
