This is the document that details the curriculum for a specific course, since it defines the learning objectives that have to be fulfilled and their organization in time. It is developed through a digital platform created ad hoc called E-Syllabus, which is located within Blackboard.
The professor is the person in charge of preparing their curriculum, which will pass through the Coordinator/Area Director and/or Program management quality review.
We will build your schedule based on the information we take from the syllabus once you have filled in. We will work with the following data:
Course directions for each session
Type of session (Live in-person, Live online, Foro, Asynchronous)
Distribution of the sessions (single 1h20 / double 2h50)
Remember to include accurate and complete information at the level of detail you may consider, so that we will know your complete instructions.
Once the course assignment is approved, you will be able to see your courses listed on Blackboard, so that you can start uploading the information in your syllabus. Just need to click on the course and search for the Syllabus option to open the e-syllabus application.
We encourage you to activate the Activity stream and/or email notifications for "New Course and organization" in Blackboard. Drop down to see more information.
Besides that, Documentation Department will send you an email with the details of the syllabus you may complete and the deadlines, You also will receive a reminder few days before the deadline.
Keep in mind, you can use the Import feature of the e-syllabus application so that you can use part of the syllabus of the same courses, from previous intakes.
You should select the type of session for each session.
Live in-person
Live online
Discussion Forum (only blended programs)
Asynchronous
The first two correspond to synchronous category and the other to Asynchronous. Please remind, Discussion forum is reserved only for Online/Blended programs. For an In-person program, forum will be considered as an Asynchronous session.
The program management team and the Area Director have set the percentage of asynchronous sessions your course must meet. Once the syllabus is completed, the system will notify you in case you dont meet the limits.
Please introduce in the syllabus the desired distribution for the planning of the sessions, that is to say, when two sessions need to be shceduled on the same date, you need to combine them in the syllabus. Sessions must be single (1h20) except when, due to the academic content, double sessions (2h50) are required but they should be minimized.
In case the content for two or more sessions is the same, but they do not need to take place on the same date, you should not combine them in the syllabys and should paste the same content on each.
In this Videotutorial you can find the full explanation about how to fill in the syllabus.
You`ll also find the videos embedded in the e-syllabus app while completing the syllabus.
Planification and Documentation Departments will assist you with any doubt.
