This website is a user's guide for Area Directors who want to consult IE Publications and/or manage the approval/rejection the addition, modification or deletion of a publication of their Faculty at IE Knowledge Catalog.
To access the IE Knowledge Catalog, Area Director must use their IE staff credentials (@ie.edu).
It can also be accessed via IE Campus, in Blackboard Ultra, through Faculty Resources.
To enter the catalog, click on the "Log on with SAML" option. In this screen you can also choose/change the language of the application.
Once the initial login is done, a panel with the Navigation entry appears.
To consult a record, just click on the Search Record icon and you will access the main screen of the catalog, which displays by default the total list of published IE teaching materials and a search engine on the left side.
Two types of searches are available:
Simple search: by record key, title, author, area to which it belongs, format or document type.
Advanced search: which includes more filters.
* The searches in the fields are exact. For example: if we put in the field Title the word Lago, it will not return any result because there is no record starting with the word Lago. You should put an asterisk before and/or after (*) if you do not know the exact title.
Selecting the desired publication, double-clicking opens the record in a new tab with all available information, as well as the option to download an inspection copy in pdf format.
When a Professor wants to add a new record, the Area Director will have to review the document to assess whether it is suitable for publication. Once reviewed, he/she will have to give his/her approval or denial to the document sent.
The Area Director will receive an email informing him/her that he/she has a registration request. By clicking on the link in the email and after logging in, he/she will access the main screen of the application.
In the left sidebar of the Navigation Entry there is a tray icon, which is the mailbox where the pending tasks are located. When you click on it, the following screen opens:
When you select the task to be performed, double click on the task to open it and you will be able to review the information in the form to approve or reject the registration of the new record.
To view the document, double click on the bottom of the screen where the shortcut to the record is located:
Whether you approve or reject the registration of a record, the Reason for Approval/Rejection field marked in yellow must be filled in. If this is not done, the system will display an error message.
Once the registration is approved/rejected, it disappears from the pending tasks in the mailbox.
When the Area Director approves the new publication, an informative email will be sent to IEKnowledge Catalog to proceed with the final publication.
When a professor requests the editing of one of their records, the Area Director will receive an email of the new task "Request of teaching material modification".
By clicking on the link in the email and after login, the Area Director will access the main catalog screen where can see the pending tasks in the mailbox.
Once the Area Director double-clicks on the task, the procedure is similar to the approval/rejection process of a new record.
When a professor requests the deletion of one of his records, the Area Director will receive an email of the new task "Request of teaching material removal".
By clicking on the link in the email and after login, the Area Director will access the main catalog screen where can see the pending tasks in the mailbox.
Once the Area Director double-clicks on the task, the procedure is similar to the approval/rejection process of a new record.
