Find out about your leader in the Biography in Context database.
Be sure to take note of:
what movements they were a part of,
if they go by another name,
political affiliations,
their participation / advocacy at the turn of the century,
important events that they were a part of,
people/organizations they collaborated with,
people / organizations that had different ideas from them.
Great for searching PEOPLE.
Provides overview of person.
Articles, images, websites, etc., about the person.
Now that you have some of the basic information from your first search in the Biography in Context database, search for more detailed information about the movement, organizations, events, and people that YOUR person was a part of or affiliated with.
Search by:
Time Period.
Specific topics with in that period.
Search for people, events, time periods, movements, etc.
Search by:
Search for people, events, time periods, movements, etc.
Just like a print book, use the table of contents to skip to the chapter relevant to what you are looking for.
Search two ways:
Under Historical Timeline top tab, select an Era and browse the timeline for that Era to find relevant information.
Under Keyword Search top tab, search for your person, one of the terms you generated earlier, or a combo of both.
Use quotation marks around your term.
At the top, sort by oldest.
