Adding Music / Sounds (and Creative Commons)

Just like in research, we always need to give credit to the sources that contribute to our projects/essays/presentations. This is the same for music and images.

In order to comply with copyright use laws, when adding music / sounds to your podcast, you need to follow the licensing use for that work. The easiest way to make sure you are okay to use the work is if it falls under a Creative Commons license. You will still always need to give credit to the creator of the work. Listed below are sites that provide royalty free music and sounds. All music / sounds found on these sites need to be given a credit in your podcast description as payment for being able to use them. To learn more about Creative Commons and royalty free music? Check out this article from StudioBinder.

When giving credit to a creator of music or sound, follow the template below:

Music: Title by Artist - Website

Ex.: Music: Magic Of The Season by Shane Ivers - https://www.silvermansound.com
