Exam stress may be a good thing, as it gives you motivation to study. However, stress levels can get out of hand at times, especially at the end of the academic year. This could cause you to worry more, experience anxiety and depression, lose sleep, become forgetful, irritable, overwhelmed, exhausted and feel out of control.
Use these helpful tips to cope with the stress you are facing academically
Develop good study habits
get sufficient sleep
find quiet places to study to reduce distractions
use mind maps to collect ideas
take short breaks
ask for help when in doubt
Listen to music
Music is definitely an effective way to reduce your exam stress, especially calm and relaxing ones that help to settle your pace and cool you down.
Have a balanced diet
Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals, grains, nuts and protein are all good for the brain and energy levels. This will give you more energy for studying to gain sufficient knowledge before an examination.
Too much Exam Stress could cause one to do worse than usual instead. Hence, we have to learn the ways to cope with stress such as to develop good studying habits that can allow us to be sufficiently ready for examinations. This will thus reduce the large amounts of stress each of us are facing.
