In the Czech Republic, people are finding ways to keep their culture alive during this pandemic.

We all know how social distancing is keeping us apart from others, so here is a creative way the citizens of Prague are continuing their festivals. An article on Positive.News titled "How drive-in festivals are keeping culture alive in the Czech Republic" says “Inspired by the old drive-in cinemas made famous in the US, Czech theatre director, Karel Kratochvíl, hatched a plan to put on an arts festival in Prague, which people could enjoy without leaving their cars.” They are calling this event: Art Parking. The two-month event opened on 24 April, giving the people of Prague a chance to engage with culture whilst complying with social distancing restrictions. The event lasts until the end of June. The host of the event states: “We don’t want to stream ourselves to death,” she said. “Live art needs a living spectator and vice versa.” Although the festival has just started, ticket sales have been strong and supported: instead of the usual applause, performances now end with enthusiastic honking of car horns. With social distancing going on longer, more of these events are being organized in other cities as well.

Always remember to find solutions to problems, and stay positive whilst keeping yourself and others safe!
