Don't you just love animals? Cuddling and laying with your cat, dog, bird, etc. If so, fostering an animal during the quarantine may be just the thing for you.

Right now everything is kind of crazy, everyone is indoors for hours and can't socialize with anyone else outside of their family. During the quarantine people are supposed to keep a distance from others to stay healthy and safe from the coronavirus. Staying inside with JUST your family can get kind of, boring. So to cope with the quarantine people have decided to foster animals from shelters. Now we all know getting a pet is a big commitment that many people aren’t ready for. Well that's why people have decided to foster pets during the quarantine. While fostering the pets you only have to take care of the animal during the quarantine, and while the shelters are closing for the well-being of the workers, they wanted to give the animals a chance to be in a nice, warm, cozy home where they can get lots of love! “Animal Shelters See Uptick in Fostering During Coronavirus Pandemic” an article by Dan Myers of TheActiveTimes.com says that “According to The New York Daily News, in New York, the Animal Care Centers of NYC hoped that 200 people would come forward to foster animals; more than 1,460 people have signed up” (1). This is so awesome because these people in New York who have signed up to foster pets from shelters are giving these animals a nice home to stay in during the quarantine, AND they have a new fun companion to play with. This isn't just happening in New York, it is happening throughout the US which means more families for animals in need which is at least something positive out of this pandemic!

So, if you want to help out, you can apply to foster animals from your local shelters now, just send in an application and enjoy your time with your new quarantine pal!
