Purpose of One School, One Book: To build children’s reading comprehension through school-home partnership.
Reading aloud to your children promotes literacy skills by improving listening comprehension, increasing vocabulary, modeling fluency, promoting conceptual understanding, building attention stamina, and creating a positive attitude towards reading.

(Questions to ask Before, During and After reading.)
Before Reading:
What information do I already know?
What clues can I get from the chapter title?
What do I think will happen in this chapter?
During Reading:
Do I understand what’s going on?
Am I making connections (That reminds me of…)?
Am I making predictions?
Do I understand all the words?
Am I visualizing what’s happening (like a movie in my mind)?
After Reading:
Can I retell what I read/heard?
Were my predictions correct?
What was my favorite part?
Why did the author write this book/chapter?
